The weather sure is summer-like and we’ve had a great day today exploring the topic of baptism while we’ve been doing our camp activities. Our Fishing Adventure campers went to a hatchery today and also got a chance to fish at a large pond there. The reports that were received were that lots of fish were caught! The pool was a hot spot today as temperatures reached 90 and the clear water was inviting!
Our Tour de Creme bicyclists are going on their first ice cream run this evening, biking to Hartleton to Chilly Willies. Our Bible story for today was the story of Jesus getting baptized by John, the Baptist. We even talked about what it was like at the Jordan River when that happened and made images of Baptismal fonts out of Lego bricks.
Our new counselors have continued their training today, learning more about what it means to be a counselor and how to deal with different age groups and situations. They are also meeting with our synod’s Practice Discipleship coordinator tonight to get additional youth ministry training.
