Another week of camp for this summer started today and we welcomed 80 Night Owl campers! We got the week started off right with a great meal and singing, followed by the taking of our group picture. Tonight, at campfire, we sat by the edge of the pond and the staff did skits and songs that sometimes put them in the water of the pond! We even started campfire with our hosts, Ty and Ryan, canoeing in to the campfire site from across the pond while Chad sang the canoe song. Ryan played the part of the girl!
Here is a portion of tonight’s program:
At worship, Pastor Nathan talked about desolate places we’ve been and how we see God when we are both in those places and in places like camp. We also did “kerplunk” prayers, throwing rocks with our prayers into the pond.
We closed out our first night with Sunday Sundaes in the dining hall. The campers will go to bed at normal times tonight before starting to stay up later and later as the week progresses during this Night Owl Week.
