After a short break for the Fourth of July, our staff are back at it, welcoming 69 campers this afternoon for Guppies and Minnows and Night Owl camps. Despite some long lines with all the campers, we had a good registration period and were excited for our lasagna dinner tonight.
Before dinner, the campers were gathering in the parking lot at Evergreen and were all being connected to one another. Here are some pictures:
Following supper and our group pictures, it was time for worship at the amphitheatre. We sang songs, prayer and heard a message from Pastor E about our theme verse for the week from Deuteronomy. She reminded us to memorize important scripture passages so we can take them wherever we go.
Then, it was campfire. We learned who the staff is this year through a fun live slide show. Each counselor and staff member portrayed themselves in a still slide and we sang some fun songs while doing it. We saw some skits and heard a great story by Jim, too.
Snack rounded out our day at camp, followed by bedtime. The Night Owls will go to bed at normal times tonight and then stay up progressively later this week. The Guppies and Minnows will be doing all kinds of water activities as we go through the week. We look forward to a great time with all these campers!
