2014 Week 6: Thursday

It was a beautiful day at camp, with lots of sunshine as we learned about Living in Easter.  For First Light, we played a running game in the field and talked about how through Christ’s death and resurrection, our bondage to sin was destroyed.  Several groups had nature time with Ryan today and at lunch, we put Jesus (portrayed by Ty) in a tomb and he arose.  We sang, “I Am the Resurrection!”

This afternoon, the pool was a popular spot.  This followed some playing of “Bunny Whoops” by the pioneer boys.  The Phantom Inspector came this afternoon to check on our community stewardship.  Those same pioneer boys got glowing marks on their cleaning of the Maple Boy’s Bathroom.

Tonight, we had a Superhero Scavenger Hunt.  Campers looked for ten comic Superheroes and also visited with Jesus, a special “superhero” who told about one of his resurrection appearances.  Following our All-Camp Activity, we had campfire and worship at the pond.  There were funny skits, good singing, and time to reflect on our day and week at camp.

As our director sang tonight, “It’s still Week 6, until we say goodbye.”
